27—29 October, 2006 OPERA, GULLS & JACARANDA
Sidney Workshop, NSW, Australia (JUST FOR FUN)
Due to a snafu in scheduling, Dennis’ planned workshop in Sidney had to be postponed. Not to be deterred by such details, he was inspired to conduct an impromptu workshop as his gracious host in Sidney, Kate Begg, guided him on a tour of the Sidney Opera House and Harbor environs.
In the first of the pictures below, see Kate embrace the spirit of her Australian persona.
Secondly, Dennis gives the ‘thumbs-up’ as he stands in the chi kung Embracing the Tree posture, admiring the sturdiness of the Jacaranda tree, while absorbing the beautiful purple chi of its flowers. He embraces the innate nature of the Jacaranda, extending his roots deep into the earth, establishing his grounding connection while absorbing the universal purple/violet light through his crown. A lovely day!

Then, at the Opera House see Dennis in his command performance of the Iron Shirt Chi Kung rendition of the Golden Phoenix Washes Its Feathers. Notice the artistic intensity, the controlled tenor of his tongue as he approaches the crescendo of articulation. He crosses his eyes, thrusts his tongue out to the apex of the stretch while synchronizing the maximum contraction— squeezing of the perineum—and stretching the tendons of his fingers and toes out to the sides after packing his organs with the invigorating seaside chi!
In the fourth picture, he found an attentive audience of gulls on the railing along the harbor walkway next to the opera house. They showed their appreciation and pleasure as they related to the washing of the feathers. You can see the enthusiasm as the gull on the left emulates Dennis’ pose during the repeat phase in the process of packing the chi in the organs.
During free time, Dennis was invited to go sailing and whale and dolphin watching off the coast of Ballina, near Byron Bay. He had a lesson at the helm and got the feel of staying the course while balancing between the forces of the wind, waves and ocean currents.
Dolphins came off the bow to lead the way back to home port around sunset.

Off the coast of Cairns, Dennis was found scuba diving below the surface enjoying the sites of the Great Barrier Reef with his friendly fish guiding the tour.

Taking a break during the Cairns Friday night September ‘06 Tao Yin Workshop at Sophia’s dance studio, Sophia and Donna demonstrated pole-dance gymnastics.
